For more than 20 years, I’ve edited papers for academics in Marketing, Management, Information Systems, Accounting, Strategy and Entrepreneurship. I can help you prepare a paper for submission, work through an R&R, or take another look at a manuscript that simply isn't working.
Sometimes your paper needs a careful edit. Sometimes it needs much more than that.
What kind of editing does my paper need?
You may well know exactly what you need. Perhaps the paper is nearly ready to submit and you just want a human eye to check the language carefully. Or you've been told by a reviewer that the writing needs work.
But sometimes it's difficult to know. A paper can feel too long, repetitive or hard to follow without it being obvious where the problem lies. You may have rewritten the introduction ten times and still not be happy with it. It could be that the sentences are perfectly good, but somehow the paper as a whole isn't coming together.

What does a publications coach do?
A publications coach helps you see what isn't working in your paper, understand why, and work out how to fix it. This role combines the services offered by an “academic editor” and an “academic writing coach”.
Support could look like:
coaching to overcome emotional blocks
providing accountability
providing tools and frameworks to create a strong positioning and argument
high-level editing for story and flow, and
copy editing at the final stages of writing.
A publications coach works closely with you as a thinking partner and a second set of eyes. They give you the close, expert feedback that co-authors may not have the time—or the distance from the paper—to provide.
