Tanvi Mehta

For more than 20 years, I’ve helped business-school academics improve their writing and develop stronger papers for publication. I work with researchers in Marketing, Management, Information Systems, Accounting, Strategy and Entrepreneurship at different stages of their academic careers.

Over those years, I’ve read a lot of papers. I’ve learned to see where there is no clear through-line, when a literature review isn't engaging with the literature, when the contribution is buried, and when the writer knows what they mean but hasn't managed to get it onto the page.

I’m interested in how all the pieces of a paper work together and, above all, in what happens to the reader as they move through it.

I believe that writing is a craft. Unless you work and work and work at it, you will continue to generate sloppy, muddy lumps of clay instead of fine, well-crafted ceramic vases.

My work also takes me into the classroom. I’ve trained more than 400 faculty in academic writing and publishing, helping researchers understand the craft behind the papers they are trying to write.

I’m powered by curiosity, an irrational love for language (I speak five), and the firmly held belief that education is for all.

I am particularly interested in language, film, culture, cognition, and pedagogy.
